The event will launch the publication ‘Bolivarian Venezuela: sustained progress for workers’ rights’ booklet published by the Institute of Employment Rights, which provides an in-depth look of Venezuela’s new Labour Law, which has been described as one of the most progressive of its kind in the world.
The co-authors of the booklet will be joined at the event by Carlos Lopez, the General Secretary of the Venezuelan TUC and also leader of the University Workers’ Union, who will answer your questions not only on the Venezuelan Labour Law, but the current situation in Venezuela and the response of working people and their organisations to recent developments.
It will be followed by a reception nearby (at 6.30pm) which will provide an opportunity to meet Carlos and continue the discussion informally.
Hosted by Unite the Union. Supported by the General Federation of Trade Unions. The booklet on the new Venezuelan labour law is sponsored by OH Parsons and Unite GPMITC Sector and published by Institute of Employment Rights.
By invitation only for active trade unionists –Â register here.
