On Thursday 28 March 2013, Harlow TUC secretary David Forman was the guest speaker at the AGM of Unison Princess Alexandra Hospital Branch.
David was speaking on trade union freedom and the right to strike, and highlighting that employment law is nothing new, with the very first statute on labour law being the Ordinance of Labourers 1349.
He went on to detail the Thatcher laws and the ridiculously restrictive balloting and notice arrangements introduced in the 1992 Trade Union & Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 and earlier legislation.
The PAH branch agreed to re-affiliate to Harlow TUC and, more importantly, to the Campaign for Trade Union Freedom.
