The Tories have fired starting gun on what they say will be negotiations to ârepatriate powers relating to social and employment lawsâ. The “powers” they have in mind include laws related to working time (including paid holidays); agency workers; maternity and childcare rights and health & safety.
On 26th February the IPPR will be holding a debate fronted by  LĂĄszlĂł Andor, European commissioner for employment, social affairs and inclusion, who will deliver a keynote speech on the topic âLiving standards in Europe and the importance of social investmentâ. Also on the platform will be Frances OâGrady, General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress.
