Statement from the Campaign For Trade Union Freedom
The Campaign For Trade Union Freedom is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of its President Bob Crow, General Secretary of RMT.
Bob was one of the founders of the Campaign to Repeal The Anti Trade Union Laws which merged last year with the Liaison Committee To Defend Trade Unions to create the Campaign For Trade Union Freedom. At the first meeting of the new organisation Bob was made the President.
Bob was one of the most outstanding trade unionists in the UK, who stood up for his members and working people not just here but throughout the world.
Bob was never afraid to say what he thought and was a true fighter for trade unions and trade union freedoms.
He was a great friend and comrade and a giant of the Trade Union movement.

On the behalf of the Officers and Steering Committee
Condolences and Solidarity to the family and friends of Bob Crow from #USDAW C133 branch. Bob was a real Trade Union leader. He didn’t talk tough and then give in. He walked the walk as well as talked the talk. He was hated by the right people and loved by the right people. The best tribute that can be paid him is that the RMT smash TlF’s plans to close all Ticket Offices on the Tube. Bob Crow RMT – RIP.
